UVic and Logan Lake play host in this weekend’s only games.

The Miners are back at the Logan Lake Recreation Centre to face the Simon Fraser University Red Leafs in their second matchup of the season.

The Red Leafs put up an 8-spot on the Miners in their last meeting en route to an 8-5 victory and will look to repeat history to return to .500 in the standings.

At the other end of the rink, the Miners enter Friday’s game after falling 5-4 last weekend to the first-place University of Victoria Vikes, and will aim to keep momentum on their side against the Red Leafs.

Speaking of the Vikes, they return to the Ian Stewart Complex after a 3-game road trip last week to face the Vancouver Island University Mariners in the third matchup between these two teams.

The Vikes currently sit atop the BCIHL with 12 points in 7 games, and a win would give them a comfortable 3 point lead ahead of the idle second-place Okanagan Lakers.

The Mariners currently sit in third place with 8 points in 5 games, giving them the highest win percentage in the league with the least amount of games played (followed by SFU with just 6 games played). VIU’s only loss so far this season has come at the hands of UVic, and they will look to return to the win column against those same Vikes.
