BCIHL Staff

Okanagan hits home ice for the first time since November 18th.

The Lakers return to action after an extended break looking to hold their ground in the standings race against the Vikes and Mariners. The last game the Lakers hosted at home came against the Mariners in a 5-4 victory.

The Mariners will look to keep their winning ways rolling after a 5-0 win on Friday night in Burnaby, extending their win streak to 4 and becoming the first team in the BCIHL to reach the 10 win mark. With just 7 games left on their schedule, VIU gets closer and closer to locking up home ice advantage in the BCIHL playoffs with every win.

UVic will travel to Burnaby after a dominant 7-1 victory over Logan Lake on Friday night also looking to keep their home-ice advantage hopes alive. The Vikes currently have a game in hand over the Mariners and sit just 3 points behind in 2nd place.

After a disappointing showing on Friday night, SFU will look to rebound against the Vikes who they’ve only seen once this year in a game that resulted in a 7-6 overtime loss for the Red Leafs. Currently in 4th place at the halfway mark of their season, SFU will need to make up ground in order to have a chance at home-ice advantage come March.
