Tonight marks the first matchup between SFU and VIU since the 2023 BCIHL Championship.
The Red Leafs head north to Nanaimo after falling to the UVic Vikes last night 6-5 in overtime. The new look Red Leafs will face VIU for the first time since defeating them in the 2023 BCIHL Playoffs to earn their second consecutive championship against the Mariners.
The Mariners, a team who has made the BCIHL Finals each year since joining the league in 2017, will be looking to keep their perfect record alive and keep up with the Okanagan Lakers for top spot in the league.
The Lakers will host the BCIHL’s other independent team, the Logan Laker Miners, tonight in Kelowna as they try to hold on to their one-point lead in the standings. The Miners are still looking for their first win of the season.
