GAME NOTES | 09.29.23

UVic and VIU are on the road in a pair of non-conference matchups.

Kicking off at 6:00pm PT, the UVic Vikes are in Edmonton to take on the ACAC’s Concordia University of Edmonton Thunder. The Vikes are 2-1-0 in preseason play, defeating both the VIU Mariners and SFU Red Leafs over the past two weekends, while the Thunder have only played one game this year, falling to the University of Alberta-Augustana 4-1 last weekend.

Then at 8:00pm PT, the VIU Mariners head up to Alaska to take on the University of Alaska-Anchorage Seawolves. The Seawolves are the only team to be defeated by a BCIHL club, falling 1-0 to the SFU Red Leafs last season. This will be the Mariners’ second non-conference game of the year, falling to the Trinity Western Spartans last weekend. This will also be their first trip to Alaska and first NCAA D1 matchup in program history.
