The Okanagan Lakers are finally back in action as they host the UVIC Vikes on Friday, January 28th and Saturday, January 29th (8:30pm puck drop both nights) at the Capital News Centre in Kelowna.
With inclement weather forcing a November island trip to be rescheduled, the games mark the first action for the Lakers since hosting SFU way back on November 13th.
The break in the schedule has given Lakers spring recruits Jayden Pedersen (Dawson Creek Jr. Canucks, NWJHL), Jay Thomson (Olds Grizzlys, AJHL), Connor Kindrat (Fort St. John Huskies, NWJHL) and Rayman Bassi (Waywayseecappo Wolverines, MJHL) time to get acquainted with their new teammates.
The Lakers are 1-0 against UVIC, while the Vikes are looking for their first win of the season.
UVIC pushed SFU in two close games last weekend in Burnaby, with SFU edging the Vikes with narrow victories.
