Trinity Western University goaltender Lucas Mills is the ANYTHING BRANDED Player of the Week for the week ending November 25th.
The 20-year-old from Burnaby, BC continued his unbeaten start to the 2018-19 season, going 2-0 on the weekend as the Spartans extended their winning streak to three games.
On Friday in Victoria, Mills allowed a power play goal with 3:20 remaining in the first period, but didn't allow another as TWU tacked on eight unanswered to beat the Vikes 8-1. He finished with 30 saves on the night.
Mills was outstanding on Saturday as he made 40 saves, including 22 in the third period, and was named second star as the Spartans topped Vancouver Island University 3-2. With the win, the former Abbotsford Pilot is now 8-0-0 this season. Mills leads all goaltending categories in 2018-19 with a 1.30 goals-against-average, a .952 save percentage and one shutout.
TWU is now three points clear of VIU atop the BCIHL standings with two games in hand on the Mariners and one game in hand on third place SFU.
Runners up for this week's ANYTHING BRANDED POW award include Spartans forwards Brayden Brown, Jarrett Fontaine and Joseph Sylvain, as well as University of Victoria goaltender Michael Fredrick.
