Vancouver Island University forward Alex Milligan is the ANYTHING BRANDED Player of the Week for the week ending October 21st.
The 25-year-old from Shawnigan Lake, BC had a hat trick, including the game-winner, as the Mariners thumped Selkirk College 8-3 on Saturday.
Two of Milligan's markers came as part of a five goal second period that saw VIU capitalize on three straight power play opportunities to put the game out of reach. The win moved the Mariners into sole possession of first place in the BCIHL standings.
The hat trick also matches Milligan's entire goal total from last season when he put up three goals and four assists in 21 games. The five year veteran is into his second season with the Mariners after spending the previous three at Selkirk College.
Runners up for this week's ANYTHING BRANDED POW award VIU forwards Dallas Calvin and Garrett Dunlop along with University of Victoria defencemen Kyle Bird and Henry Hart, along with Selkirk College defenceman Cole Arcuri.
