Vancouver Island University is pleased to announce a commitment from forward Dallas Calvin to transfer and play with the Mariners for the 2018/19 B.C. Intercollegiate Hockey League season.
Calvin joins VIU from Selkirk College, where he firmly established himself as one of the top players in the BCIHL over the past three seasons. He is a two-time League First-Team All-Star and led all BCIHL skaters with 41 points last season.
He previously suited up for the BCHL's Trail Smoke Eaters and Vernon Vipers, picking up 55 points in 53 career Junior A games. He is also one of the KIJHL's all-time leading scorers after piling up 371 points in 227 regular season and playoff games with the Beaver Valley Nitehawks.
These are exciting times for the Mariners as the team staff have been working hard all summer to bring a very competitive team to the Nanaimo Ice Centre this fall. Dallas is an important part of this team building, his hockey ability and experience make him a welcomed addition to the Mariners.
