High-scoring forward Guilderson joins Vikes from SJHL's Estevan Bruins

The University of Victoria is pleased to announce that forward Hayden Guilderson has committed to the Vikes for 2018/19 B.C. Intercollegiate Hockey League season.

Guilderson hails from Chilliwack B.C. where he played his minor hockey and embarked on his junior hockey career before spending the last two seasons with the SJHL's Estevan Bruins.

The 21-year old finished third on his team and 11th overall in the SJHL with 61 points in 58 regular season games last season before adding 14 points in 12 playoff contests. He wrapped up his SJHL career with 116 points in 137 total games.

"I chose to become a student athlete at UVic because of the academic opportunity and the tradition," says Guilderson. "The campus is amazing, and the hockey team is constantly evolving. I’m excited for the next four years of playing competitive hockey and earning a degree."

Before joining the Bruins, Guilderson spent two years in the PJHL with the Abbotsford Pilots, capped by a 51-point season in 2015/16.

Guilderson is the Vikes' sixth commitment of 2018, joining forwards Branden Voss (Drayton Valley, AJHL) and Eddie May (kindersley, SJHL), as well as defencemen Brody Jennings (English River, SIJHL), Joe Olson (Alberta-Augustana, ACAC) and Hayden Yaremko (University of Jamestown, ACHA).
