Vancouver Island University defenceman Darryl Senholt is the ANYTHING BRANDED Player of the Week for the week ending January 28th.
The 22-year-old from Calgary had a pair of second period assists on Friday as the Mariners doubled the University of Victoria 6-3.
On Saturday, the former Campbell River Storm blueliner scored his first career BCIHL goal as VIU cruised to a 7-1 win over the Vikes to all but wrap up fourth place and a spot in the BCIHL playoffs.
The stay-at-home defenceman now has three points in 13 games for the Mariners this season. Senholt's career high for points in a season is 14, which he posted with the KIJHL's Osoyoos Coyotes in 2014-15.
The two wins give VIU a 10-point gap on fifth place UVic. VIU's magic number to clinch a playoff spot is now two points.
Runners up for this week's ANYTHING BRANDED POW award include Selkirk College forward Brandon Sookro, University of Victoria forward Liam Shaw, Simon Fraser University forward Jaret Babych, Vancouver Island University forward Alex Hanson.
