Vancouver Island University forward Gage Colpron is the ANYTHING BRANDED Player of the Week for the week ending November 18th.
The 22-year-old from Kelowna had a goal and an assist on Friday as the Mariners built a 2-0 lead in the first period and scored twice in the third to beat the University of Victoria 5-2. Colpron was on fire on Saturday as VIU picked up its first ever regular season BCIHL win, 7-4 over the Vikes. He finished the night with two goals and two assists to set a team record for points in a game.
Colpron's damage all came at even strength and he is currently riding a four game point streak that has seen him chalk up four goals and four assists. He is now second on the Mariners in scoring and vaulted into 18th overall in BCIHL scoring.
It was a sweep for the Mariners in their first ever weekend home-and-home set against the University of Victoria in a pair of games that set the Vancouver Island rivalry up in a big way.
Runners up for this week's ANYTHING BRANDED POW award include Simon Fraser University forward Daniell Lange, Trinity Western University forward Brayden Brown and University of Victoria forward Landen Matechuk.
