The UVIC Vikes host the VIU Mariners on Friday November 12th in an anticipated matchup.
The Vikes are looking for their first win of the season after falling to the Mariners and Okanagan Lakers in October. Captain Kenny Britton (Victoria Cougars, VIJHL) and Stratton Pickett (Red Lake Miners, SIJHL) had the lone Vikes goals in the loss to the Mariners, while netminder Blake Pilon (Kimberley Dynamiters, KIJHL) is looking to improve on his strong 2.27 GAA and .914 save percentage.
The Mariners suffered a pair of losses against SFU last weekend and are looking to rebound and climb their way back to the top of the BCIHL standings.
Gavin Rauser (Powell River Kings, BCHL) has led the way for the Mariners with 5 points in 3 games, while rookies Brock Palmer (Kimberley Dynamiters, KIJHL) and Parker Bergstrom (Kerry Park Islanders, VIJHL) have contributed offensively in the early part of the season.
Friday's puck drop is at 7pm at the Ian Stewart Complex in Victoria
