University of Victoria forward Jack Palmer has been named the British Columbia Intercollegiate Hockey League's Player of the Week for the week ending March 12th.
The second-year forward came up huge for the Vikes in their first-round sweep of top-seeded Simon Fraser University, picking up seven points in a pair of games.
Palmer opened the weekend with a goal and two assists in a 6-3 home ice win. He assisted on a pair of key goals by linemate Patrick Holland and scored one of his own, helping to pull his team within one as the Vikes fought back from a two-goal deficit during the second period.
On Saturday, Palmer assisted on a pair of power-play goals that brought UVic from from an early 2-0 hole and then scored a pair of his own -- including the game winner and an insurance marker.
Runners up for this week's award include Trinity Western University forward Dirk de Waal, University of Victoria goaltender Zack Wear and Trinity Western University goaltender Silas Matthys.
