Smerek named BCIHL Player of the Week following pair of multi-point games

Simon Fraser University forward Graham Smerek has been named the British Columbia Intercollegiate Hockey League's Player of the Week for the week ending February 19th.

The 24-year old led the Clan to a pair of key weekend wins, topping the University of Victoria on the road and Eastern Washington on the road.

Smerek scored the game winner and added an assist on Friday night in Victoria as SFU shut out the Vikes by a 4-0 score. The next evening he netted insurance goals in the second and third periods to help lift the Clan past Eastern.

With four points on the weekend, the Fort McMurray product is back on a point-per-game pace with seven goals and 14 assists in 21 games. He sits
