TWU's Jacob Mills named Player of the Week following hat trick in win

Trinity Western University defenceman Jacob Mills has been named the British Columbia Intercollegiate Hockey League's Player of the Week for the week ending February 26th.

The 20-year old blueliner led the Spartans' offence during a two-game weekend sweep of Eastern Washington, picking up three goals and an assist in two games.

On Friday, the Burnaby, BC product netted his first BCIHL hat trick. He scored a pair of first period goals to stake te Spartans to a 2-0 lead and wrapped up the scoring in a 5-1 with his third goal of the night. On Saturday, he assisted on Andrew Wheeler's third period power-play goal for his fourth point of the weekend.

With four points on the weekend, Mills now sits fifth amongst BCIHL defencemen in scoring with 13 points.

Runners up for this week's award include Eastern Washington University defenceman Tanner Hawes, University of Victoria forward Jack Palmer and Selkirk College goaltender Brett Huber.
