Holland named BCIHL Player of the Week after five points in weekend sweep

University of Victoria forward Patrick Holland has been named the British Columbia Intercollegiate Hockey League's Player of the Week for the week ending Janury 29th.

The 25-year old keyed the Vikes offence in a pair of weekend wins over Eastern Washington and helped UVic keep within shouting distance of Selkirk, TWU and SFU further up the BCIHL standings.

On Friday night, Holland scored the game winner in a 4-1 victory with a late first period power-play marker, and then set up Jack Palmer just moments into the second period for a shorthanded tally. And on Saturday, the former NHL forward helped set up a pair of goals from Palmer while again netting the winner himself in a 7-4 win.

With five points on the weekend, Holland moves up to third in BCIHL scoring with 24 points. His 12 goals lead all skaters.

Runners up for this week's award include University of Victoria forward Jack Palmer, University of Victoria goaltender Zack Wear and Eastern Washington University forward Taylor Bargar.
