SFU's Berry-Lamontagna named Player of the Week after five-point weekend

Simon Fraser University defenceman Mathew Berry-Lamontagna has been named the British Columbia Intercollegiate Hockey League's Player of the Week for the week ending November 13th.

The third-year blueliner helped the Clan capture a two-game weekend sweep on the road at Eastern Washington, combining for five points on Saturday and Sunday nights.

In the weekend opener, Berry-Lamontagna scored once and added three assists -- including two on the power-play -- as the Clan cruised to an 11-1 victory. And on Sunday, he assisted on Adam Callegari's game-winner late in the second period.

The 22-year old is well on his way to a career season offensively, having already picked up 11 points in just nine regular season games. He sits third in team scoring and second amongst all BCIHL defenceman in points, trailing only UVic's Kyle Bird.

Runners up for this week's award include Trinity Western University forward Evan Last, Trinity Western University goaltender Lucas Mills and Simon Fraser University forward Adam Callegari.
