Selkirk's Prigione named Player of the Week following home win over EWU

Selkirk College goaltender James Prigione has been named the British Columbia Intercollegiate Hockey League's Player of the Week for the week ending February 14th.

Prigione continued his strong run of recent play with a 31-save performance in a 5-2 home ice win over Eastern Washington on Saturday night in Castlegar.

The 24-year old was named the game's first star after turning aside a combined 23 shots in the second and third periods, allowing the Saints to build on a 2-1 lead after 20 minutes.

With just two goals allowed on Saturday, Prigione takes over the BCIHL lead in goals-against average at 2.69. His .901 save-percentage sits third amongst all BCIHL goaltenders, while his nine wins rank second.

Runners up for this week's award include Simon Fraser University forward Brendan Lamont, Selkirk College forward Dallas Calvin and Simon Fraser University goaltender Lyndon Stanwood.
