Vikes' Mueller named Player of the Week after 4 points in win over vs SFU

University of Victoria forward Shawn Mueller has been named the British Columbia Intercollegiate Hockey League's Player of the Week for the week ending January 31st.

Mueller was in on four of the Vikes' six goals in a 6-4 home ice win over Simon Fraser University on Friday night.

The 23-year old helped his team get out to an early lead by assisting twice on first period goals from Wolfgang Schoenfuhs and Bo Sigurdson. In the second he picked up a helper on Schoenfuhs' second of the night before scoring himself with 1:33 remaining in regulation to end an SFU rally and cap the scoring.

With the one goal, three assist effort, Mueller moved into third place in BCIHL scoring with 23 points.

Runners up for this week's award include Eastern Washington University forward Beau Walker, Trinity Western University defenceman Ryan Bakken and Simon Fraser University forward Mitch Crisanti.
