UVic's Mueller named Player of the Week after 3 points in win over Clan

University of Victoria forward Shawn Mueller has been named the British Columbia Intercollegiate Hockey League's Player of the Week for the week ending November 22nd.

Mueller led the Vikes to a slump-busting 5-1 victory over Simon Fraser University on Saturday, scoring twice and adding an assist. The win brought an end to a five-game losing streak dating back to Oct. 23rd.

The fourth-year forward scored the game's opening goal early in the first period and set up the eventual game winner by Carsen Willans early in the second. He also capped the scoring with an unassisted effort with 44 seconds remaining in regulation.

Mueller also assisted on the Vikes' lone goal in a 4-1 loss on Friday night. His four goals and 10 points are both tied for tops amongst all UVic scorers with Willans.

Runners up for this week's award include Simon Fraser University forward Jono Ceci, Selkirk College forward Matt Martin and University of Victoria goaltender Zack Wear.
