Trinity Western University will look to bounce back this Friday night and earn its first home ice win of the season when the Spartans host Eastern Washington at 7:00 PM at the Langley Events Centre.
The Spartans (1-2) are coming off a home-opening 5-4 loss to Simon Fraser last weekend.

SPARTANS NOTES• Last year, the Spartans were nearly unbeatable at home, posting an 11-1 record. Their only home loss was a 3-1 setback on Oct. 31 against Victoria. With a loss in their home-opener, TWU will have to run the table to equal last year’s impressive home record.
• Mattias Schmitt is leading TWU in scoring with two goals and four assists through three games and is tied for second in league scoring. His early 2.0 points per game pace is a sharp increase from the 0.7 points per game he has averaged over the first three years of his BCIHL career.
• The Spartans won all four games last year against Eastern Washington and outscored the Eagles 19-8.
• TWU has scored just one goal on 13 power play attempts this season and has allowed four shorthanded goals on 15 penalty kill situations.

EAGLES NOTES • Eastern Washington is coming off a season-opening weekend series at home in which the Eagles split with Victoria, winning 5-3 before losing 3-1. They had a bye last week.
• The Eagles are once again led offensively by Beau Walker, who has two goals and three assists in two games. Last year, Walker led the league in scoring with 18 goals and 31 assists in 23 games and was named to the BCIHL’s First All-Star Team.
• The last time EWU won at the Langley Events Centre was Nov. 16, 2013, when the Eagles earned a 4-2 victory.
• EWU is 2 for 10 on the power play so far this year and has killed off 13 of 15 penalty kill situations.
