Simon Fraser University forward Trent Murdoch has been named the British Columbia Intercollegiate Hockey League's Player of the Week for the week ending March 8th.
Murdoch played a key role in the Clan's upset of top-ranked Trinity Western University last weekend, scoring twice and picking up two assists in the two-game sweep.
On Thursday, the 23-year old set up Adam Callegari's eventual game winner in a 3-2 road victory in Langley. And he saved his best for Friday's elimination game in Burnaby, where he scored a pair of second period goals that brought the Clan back from a 2-0 deficit before setting up another Callegari marker during a three-goal third period that earned SFU the series win. For his efforts on Friday he was named the game's first star
Murdoch tied for the first round lead in points with four following a regular season that saw him finish fourth in team scoring and 20th overall with 17 points.
Runners up for this week's award include Selkirk College forward Ryan Edwards, University of Victoria forward Carsen Willans and Simon Fraser University forward Adam Callegari.
