Simon Fraser University defenceman Jared Eng has been named the British Columbia Intercollegiate Hockey League's Player of the Week for the week ending January 19th.
Eng helped lead the Clan to a pair of wins that re-established the team at the top of the BCIHL standings.
On Thursday at Trinity Western, Enns set up Trent Murdoch for the game's opening goal just 33 seconds into regulation and scored his team's second of the night when he snuck in from the point on an SFU power-play and beat Silas Matthys with a back-door wrist shot.
And on Saturday, Eng energized the Clan offence once again when he pinched up ice to join the rush before converting a Pavlo Zerebecky pass past Selkirk College netminder Chris Hurry on a backhand deke.
Overall, Eng scored twice and added two assists to pad his lead as the BCIHL's highest scoring blueliner. He now has five goals and 16 points through 14 games with the Clan.
Runners up for this week's award include Selkirk College forward Logan Proulx, Thompson Rivers University defenceman Scott Bollefer and Simon Fraser University goaltender Andrew Parent.
