Thompson Rivers University bounced back the night after a home loss while simultaneously handing Trinity Western University their ninth consecutive loss on Saturday night by a 9-5 score at Kamloops Memorial Arena.
The WolfPack led 4-2 after the first following a pair of goals from Anthony Delong and singles from Colton Schell and Josh Macdonald.
TRU extended their lead to four during a high-scoring second period and sealed the game with two more goals in the third.
Brandon Watson, Brodie Gibbon, Tyler Berkholz, Josh Macdonald and Dayton Shaw -- with his first BCIHL marker -- all found the back of the net during the game's final 40 minutes.
A solid effort from the entire team was evident as thirteen WolfPack players found their way onto the scoresheet. Scott Bollefer, Duncan Schulz and Ryan Skinner all finished with three assists each.
The WolfPack went 1 for 3 on the power-play while Trinity was 3 for 4. The 'Pack generated good chances but due to injuries did not have their regular personnel on the penalty kill.
Top forward Josh Macdonald, currently ranked third in league scoring, suffered an upper body injury towards the end of the game.
Chris Solecki picked up the win in goal with a 30-save performance.
"He settled down in the third making some good saves," said TRU head coach Don Schulz. "It was his strongest period."
"It was good to see us bounce back and put together a solid effort. With some pretty good hockey players out of our lineup everyone stepped up. It keeps us in the hunt with the ultimate goal of finishing first."
The WolfPack will now entertain Simon Fraser University in back-to-back games at home next Friday (8:30 PM) and Saturday (8:00 PM) at Memorial Arena.
