Eastern Washington University will return to home ice this weekend for a Friday and Saturday night games against the Thompson Rivers University Wolfpack. Face-off on both nights is set for 7:00 PM.
The Wolfpack (7-4-0) currently sit in second place in the B.C. Intercollegiate Hockey League standings, seven points ahead of EWU (3-5-1). The Eagles have played two fewer games and will look to try and close the gap this weekend in order to help secure a return to the BCIHL playoffs this season.
The Wolfpack won both games that the teams played two weeks ago in Kamloops, but the Eagles lineup will be bolstered with the return of a number of players that have missed time due to injury over the past three weeks.
After missing the previous series in Kamloops, the Eagles welcomed the return of three regulars and last Saturday saw freshman goaltender Derek Moser get a win in his first start coming off a preseason injury.
TRU will come to town sporting two of three top scorers in the league with Joshua MacDonald and Duncan Schultz. EWU has two players in the top 20 in scoring in Uriah Machuga and Paxton Bell.
On Friday night, the US Marines Toys for Tots Program will be collecting new, unwrapped toys for less fortunate children in the area.
If you bring a toy on Friday to the game you will receive $2 admission to the game. As always the EWU Hockey Souvenir stand will be set up with plenty of items available for your Christmas shopping needs.
