Selkirk College forward Scott Swiston has been named the British Columbia Intercollegiate Hockey League's Player of the Week for the week ending February 24th.
The rookie forward led a depleted Saints roster to a pair of big road wins that clinched new BCIHL wins and points records for his team.
On Friday, the 21-year old scored his team's opening goal and added four assists in a 6-4 victory over Thompson Rivers in Kamloops. One of his helpers came with 3:40 remaining in regulation when he set up Jackson Garrett for the game winner following a late WolfPack rally. One night later, Swiston assisted on Selkirk's only goal in a 2-1 shootout victory over SFU.
The assistant captain's six-point weekend came in the absence of leading scorers Jordan Wood and Logan Proulx, who were both resting injuries. Swiston has now scored four times and totalled 25 points in 21 regular season games.
Runners up for this week's award include Simon Fraser University goaltender Graeme Gordon, Selkirk College goaltender Stephen Wolff and Thompson Rivers University forward Tyler Jackson.
