Simon Fraser University punched their ticket to their sixth consecutive B.C. Intercollegiate Hockey League championships berth with a 5-2 victory over Thompson Rivers on the road Saturday night in Kamloops.
Chris Hoe, Brendan Silvester and Bruin McDonald put the Clan ahead by three through 20 minutes, and SFU continued to build their lead with singles from Jono Ceci and Jesse Mysiorek in the second period.
The WolfPack closed the gap with a pair of late goals but ultimately found themselves eliminated from the postseason by the Clan for the fourth straight season.
Evan Kurylo made 27 saves for his first playoff win while Shane Mainprize allowed five goals on 35 shots and took the loss.
SFU now advances to face Selkirk College in the league finals beginning Friday.
