The Simon Fraser University Men’s Hockey team is proud to announce the additions of forwards Brenden Silvester and Joey Pavone, who will both make their season debuts in the Spring semester.
"Although they both do not give us any relief on the back-end," said Head Coach Mark Coletta. "Both Brenden and Joey will be welcomed additions to the team."
This is Pavone’s third season with SFU. Coletta is glad to be welcoming back the 23 year-old, who recorded 23 points in 24 games last season.
"Joey adds a tough, in-your-face style element to the team and has been with the group for the last couple years. He knows what it takes to get things done and win Championships."
Silvester is making his SFU debut, after spending three seasons with the WHL’s Seattle Thunderbirds where he recorded a career high 13 points in the 2009-10 season.
"Any time you add somebody with his skill and speed it will make an immediate impact," said Coletta. "Having the WHL experience, Brenden will not only be a leader in the dressing room but I expect big things from him on the ice."
SFU currently holds down second place in the BCIHL (8-1-0-1) following back-to-back wins against Thompson Rivers University.
