Simon Fraser University defenceman Taylor Swaffield has been named the British Columbia Intercollegiate Hockey League's Player of the Week for the week ending December 2nd.

Swaffield was a force at both ends of the ice in SFU's weekend sweep over Thompson Rivers University. On Friday, he picked up a pair of assists after setting up goals by Trevor Milner and Taylor Piller in the Clan's 7-1 victory on the road.

And on Saturday, in the return match-up on home ice, Swaffield assisted on a goal by team captain Chris Hoe and then capped the scoring with his first of the season on an SFU power-play in another 7-1 win.

On top of his offensive contributions, Swaffield helped shut down TRU's top lines to the tune of just two goals allowed in two games.

Runners up for this week's award include University of Victoria forward Eli Wiebe, Simon Fraser University forward Chris Hoe and Selkirk College forward Connor McLaughlin.
