Thompson Rivers University forward Alessio Tomassetti has been named the British Columbia Intercollegiate Hockey League's Player of the Week for the week ending November 17th.
Tomassetti paced the WolfPack attack during their double-header weekend at Eastern Washington, helping to lead his team to three of a possible four points while also bringing TRU even with the Eagles in the BCIHL standings.
On Friday, the former Merritt Centennials centre netted a hat trick and added a pair of assists -- including one on Jordan Urban's second period game winner -- as the 'Pack cruised to an 8-2 victory.
On Saturday, Tomassetti scored TRU's opening goal and set up a second by linemate Colten DeFrias less than three minutes later to give his team a two-goal lead in what would ultimately play out as a 4-3 overtime defeat.
With his seven-point weekend, Tomassetti now sits fifth in BCIHL scoring with six goals and 15 points in nine games.
Runners up for this week's award include Thompson Rivers University forward Colten DeFrias, Eastern Washington University forward Jake Flynn and Simon Fraser University forward Colton Graf.
