Simon Fraser University will look to get back on a winning footing on Saturday when they welcome Trinity Western to the Bill Copeland Sports Centre for a 7:00 PM faceoff.
Game night festivities include a "Teddy Bear Toss" in support of the Lower Mainland Christmas Bureau.
Fans that arrive with a stuffed animal to donate will receive a free ticket to SFU's next home game on December 1st. At the first SFU goal of the game, fans are encouraged to toss their stuffed animals on to the ice, bringing the "Teddy Bear Toss" to life.
SFU is returning to the ice after an off weekend, but they're already familiar with a TWU squad that they've faced twice already this season. Their last match-up on October 27th was a spirited affair that saw the teams combine for 56 minutes in penalties in a game the Clan won by a 6-2 margin.
TWU, meanwhile, picked up their first point of the regular seaosn last Friday night in a 5-4 overtime loss to Selkirk College. The Spartans are currently holding down the basement in the BCIHL standings with a 0-8-0-1 record, but played SFU tight in a 4-3 road defeat in their last visit to Burnaby.
The two teams have a history filled with hard-nosed hockey, and while the SFU fans appear to be in a giving mood, the same is not expected from the players on both teams.
Tickets at the door are $10 for adults and $5 for students/children/seniors. The game can also be viewed online at www.fasthockey.com.
