The University of Victoria men's hockey team, in partnership with UVIC Recreation Programs and Vikes Summer Camps, are proud to present the third annual UVIC Mens Hockey School from August 27th to 31st.
High calibre instruction will be provided by UVIC players and Vikes summer camp staff for boys and girls aged seven to 12.
"Our players and staff always look forward to our annual camp and we're very pleased that the community is now supporting it for the third consecutive year," says Vikes head coach Harry Schamhart. "It's a great way for our athletes to give back to the next generation of hockey players and remember the fun they had at these types of camps when they were kids."
Each day at camp includes two ice sessions, a field or gym session, and time at the Iain Stewart Complex pool.
Groups will be split into the traditional levels of Novice (7/8), Atom (9/10) and Peewee (11/12) with each camper receiving a coach's evaluation, training tips for future improvement, a water bottle and a hockey jersey.
The beginning of camp also signals that the hockey season is just around the corner for the defending BCIHL champions. Tryouts begin at UVIC in early September with a roster to be named prior to the start of the regular season.
The Vikes open the 2012/13 campaign at home against Selkirk College on October 5th and 6th.
