Okanagan College forward Patrik Martin has been named the British Columbia Intercollegiate Hockey League's Player of the Week for the week ending February 19th.
Martin, who transferred to OC from Simon Fraser University and joined the Coyotes in January, helped lead his new team to a pair of weekend wins against Trinity Western and SFU, both on home ice at Kelowna Memorial Arena.
On Friday, Martin set up a pair of Okanagan goals including Kyle L'Arrivee's game winner in a 6-3 victory. And on Saturday night, with his old team visiting and needing just a tie to clinch the BCIHL's regular season title, Martin scored a pair of third period goals and added an assist to secure a 5-3 come-from-behind win.
Martin now has two goals and eight assists in eight games since joining the Coyotes, matching his total from the 2010/11 season.
Runners up for this week's award include Thompson Rivers University forward David Gore, Selkirk College forward Jordan Wood and Thompson Rivers University defenceman Shane Oatway.
