Eastern Washington University forward Bret Kellogg has been named the British Columbia Intercollegiate Hockey League's Player of the Week for the week ending January 29th.
Kellogg helped the Eagles earn a pair of points on a tough road trip, as Eastern posted 3-3 and 2-2 draws at Thompson Rivers on Friday and Saturday respectively.
On Friday, down two goals entering the third period, Kellogg assisted on goals by Nick Kelly and AJ Sanders before scoring with just 24 seconds remaining to secure a 3-3 tie. One night later, the 24-year old scored EWU's opening marker to round out a four-point weekend.
Through 18 games, Kellogg leads the Eagles offensively and sits ninth overall in BCIHL scoring with eight goals and 20 points. The POW selection is his second of the season, as he also received the nod following a six-point weekend to open the season.
Runners up for this week's award include Simon Fraser University forward Ben Van Lare, Thompson Rivers University forward Jassi Sangha and Okanagan College forward Aaron Buat.
