Simon Fraser University forward Jono Ceci has been named the British Columbia Intercollegiate Hockey League's Player of the Week for the week ending January 15th.
Ceci helped lead the Clan to a pair of road victories over Selkirk College with back-to-back multi-point efforts.
On Saturday, the former Estevan Bruins centre set up each of Ben Van Lare's three goals in a 6-1 win over the Saints. One day later, Ceci tallied a hat trick of his own while adding an assist in as SFU prevailed by a 10-1 score.
His seven points from two games elevated the rookie forward into third place amongst BCIHL scorers with 23 points. He now trails only his linemate, Van Lare, and Selkirk sniper Jordan Wood for the league points lead.
Runners up for this week's award include University of Victoria forward Brett Orser, Okanagan College forward Aaron Buat and Simon Fraser University forward Ben Van Lare.
