Eastern Washington University forward Bret Kellogg has been named the B.C. Intercollegiate Hockey League's Player of the Week following a six-point weekend that helped his team to a home-ice sweep of Thompson Rivers University.
Kellogg was instrumental in EWU's opening night 6-2 victory against the WolfPack, as he picked up the game winning goal and set up four other Eagles tallies en route to being named the game's first star.
One night later, Kellogg assisted on AJ Sanders' first period marker in another EWU win, this time by a 4-3 margin.
The fourth-year centre is coming off a 28-point campaign during EWU's final season in the American Collegiate Hockey Association. His career totals with the Eagles heading into the current season included 36 goals and 83 points in 101 games.
Runners-up for the Week 1 award included Okanagan College's Layne Stopanski and SFU forwards Ben Van Lare and Tony Oak.
