The British Columbia Intercollegiate Hockey League today released its 2011/12 regular season schedule, which can be viewed in its entirety at www.bcihl.ca.
League play opens on Friday, September 30th when the Selkirk College Saints travel to Okanagan College to face the Coyotes. Another four teams join the mix the following weekend, as BCIHL newcomers Eastern Washington host Thompson Rivers on Friday, October 7th before defending league champions SFU hosts Trinity Western on the 8th.
The University of Victoria will be the final team to open their regular season when they travel to Castlegar for a two-game series against Selkirk College on October 14th and 15th.
The first match-up between 2011 BCIHL Championship finalists TRU and SFU takes place in Burnaby on Saturday, October 22nd, while the cross-border rivalry between the Saints and EWU Eagles kicks off with a home-and-home series on November 4th and 5th.
Fall semester competition concludes on Sunday, December 11th when Eastern Washington visits Victoria, while the Vikes will feature in the first games of 2012 when they travel to Selkirk College on
January 7th and 8th.
The regular season comes to an end on March 10th when Trinity Western and UVic face-off in a two-game series in the provincial capital.
An announcement regarding the location and dates for the 2012 British Columbia Intercollegiate Hockey League championships will be made prior to the beginning of the regular season.
