EWU Men's Hockey

The Eastern Washington University men’s ice hockey program is pleased to announce commitments from two players for the 2011/12 B.C. Intercollegiate Hockey League season.

Defenceman AJ King (Anchorage, AK) is a three-year veteran of the KIJHL's Spokane Braves, where he accumulated 20 goals, 50 points and 217 penalty minutes in 143 career games. King, who also provides versatility with experience at forward, set single-season career highs during the 2010/11 campaign, scoring seven times while totaling 21 points.

Forward AJ Sanders (Fairbanks, AK) joins the Eagles after sitting out the 2010/11 season in order to regain his university eligibility. In 2009/10, Sanders played in the semi-professional All-American Hockey League, scoring 27 goals and totalling 55 points split between the Western Michigan Blizzard and the Detroit Hitmen.

"Both AJ King and AJ Sanders are explected to step right into our lineup and help contribute immediately in our first BCIHL season," says Eastern Washington head coach Bill Shaw. "We're excited to have both of these players be a part of the Eagles program in the coming years."
