Broadcast details for 2011 BCIHL Championships announced

Fans not able to catch the 2011 B.C. Intercollegiate Hockey League Championships in Burnaby this week will still be able to stay close to the action, as the Simon Fraser University broadcast team of Zam Karim and Chad Klassen will bring live audio from all eight tournament games.

Karim and Klassen will also be at the mics on Sunday night when the league's Championship Final is broadcast in live video for the first time.

"Chad and I are both looking forward to being a part of another year of exciting BCIHL playoff action," says Karim. "There are some great teams in the mix and I expect another great final game like we enjoyed last season at the Langley Events Centre."

Action kicks off on Wednesday with the first of three double-headers, beginning at 4:30 PM when the University of Victoria and Trinity Western University face off at the Burnaby Winter Club. Hours later, SFU kicks off defence of their 2010 title against Okanagan College at the Bill Copeland Sports Centre.

Karim and Klassen will also broadcast a pair of games on Thursday and Friday at 4:30 and 7:30 PM respectively leading into Saturday's Semi-Finals showdown (7:00 PM).

And on Sunday, the BCIHL Championship Final will be broadcast live in streaming video through the BCIHL and SFU Men's Hockey websites.

"It's great to be part of the first video broadcast of a BCIHL final," says Karim. "We're looking forward to bringing the action to the fans throughout the tournament."
