SFU grabs two big road points with come-from-behind win at Okanagan

Simon Fraser University received three points from blueliner Kyle Boyko and brought their B.C. Intercollegiate Hockey League-leading undefeated streak to 11 games on Friday night, netting three goals in the third period to score a 4-3 come-from-behind win over Okanagan College at Kelowna's Memorial Arena.

The Coyotes had jumped ahead early after Keagan Little converted a rebound off the end boards past SFU starter Justin Mulholland just 1:10 into regulation. But Boyko replied before the intermission, one-timing a point shot past a screened Adam Butler to give the visitors a power-play equalizer.

Okanagan took their second lead of the night in the middle frame when one of the league's most dynamic forward lines struck against the flow of play, as Brock Munro and Brady Mason set up newcomer James Neitsch for his ninth point in five games.

That goal stood as the difference until midway through the third period when Joey Pavone scored his first BCIHL goal to draw SFU even. Minutes later, Chris Hoe gave the Clan a lead off a play started by Boyko, while Paul Moscone scored the eventual winner of a 2-on-1 rush with time winding down.

Mulholland made 26 saves for his seventh victory of the season while Adam Butler turned aside 32 shots in a losing cause. Boyko led all skaters with a goal and two assists, stretching his scoring lead amongst BCIHL defencemen to three points over Thompson Rivers' Darcy Huisman.

Both teams are back in action Saturday, as SFU returns home to host Trinity Western while Okanagan College received a visit from the University of the Fraser Valley.
