Thompson Rivers University forward Jassi Sangha has been named the British Columbia Intercollegiate Hockey League's Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday, October 31st, the league announced Monday.
Sangha led the WolfPack to a big home win over Simon Fraser University on Friday night, scoring twice and chipping in two assists. His first came on a solo power-play effort that saw him weave into the SFU zone and cut across the slot before blasting a shot past Justin Mulholland.
The 23-year old then keyed a two-goal second period for TRU, setting up goals by Anthony Collins and Joel Leonard that gave his squad a 4-1 lead. He also capped the scoring with 22 seconds left in regulation for his third power-play point of the night.
Sangha now sits second in BCIHL scoring with 12 points from six games.
Honourable mentions for this week's award include Trinity Westen goaltender John-Paul Chapman, University of Victoria forward Mathew Brown and Thompson Rivers defender Darcy Huisman.
