Thompson Rivers University made sure not to disappoint the 1300 fans in attendance at Memorial Arena on Friday Night as the WolfPack came through with a huge 7-2 win over the visiting Simon Fraser University Clan in B.C. Intercollegiate Hockey League action.
The victory maintained the Pack's undefeated record over two seasons in the famous arena on Victoria Street.
From the Puck drop to game end there was no shortage of action. The WolfPack were paced by former Kamloops Blazers blueliner Darcy Huisman, who earned first star honours for his strong play on defence including a plus five on the night.
The game's second star, Jassi Sangha, led the way offensively with two goals and two assists. Team captain Korey Gannon led with a solid defensive game and set the tone to ensure the Pack came out with a win.
Richie Virtanen stood tall in the Pack’s net allowing just two goals on 32 shots to earn third star honours. The Pack’ pelted SFU Goalie Justin Mulholland, who allowed seven goals on 32 shots.
The WolfPack’s next games are scheduled for Friday, November 12th when they host Selkirk College at 8:30 PM and on Saturday, November 13th at 8:00 PM when they host Trinity Western University at the Memorial Arena.
