The countdown to the 2010/11 British Columbia Intercollegiate Hockey League season can officially begin, as the league released its 84-game regular season schedule on Thursday.

Quick facts about the 2010/11 BCIHL schedule:

The University of the Fraser Valley and Trinity Western open the season on Friday, September 24th and five of the BCIHL's seven teams will see action during opening weekend.
The University of Victoria will be the last team to begin play when they host UFV on October 8th.
The first regular season re-match between 2010 BCIHL Championship Game opponents Simon Fraser University and Thompson Rivers is set for Friday, October 30th in Kamloops. The WolfPack make their first visit to the Bill Copeland Sports Centre in Burnaby on Saturday, January 29th.
The University of the Fraser Valley plays their first of ten games at the 7,000-seat Abbotsford Events and Sports Centre on October 17th against UVic.
Each game at the Bill Copeland Sports Centre will be a chance for SFU to extend a BCIHL record for consecutive home wins, as the team's streak currently stands at 20 games tracing back to the 2007/08 season.
The regular season ends on Saturday, March 5th, 2011 with Okanagan College visiting SFU and Thompson Rivers travelling to UVic.
The dates and location of the 2011 BCIHL Championships will be revealed prior to the start of the regular season.
