The Trinity Western University Titans carried over their momentum from a big win over UVic last weekend, topping the University of the Fraser Valley by a 5-2 score at the Langley Events Centre in a Saturday matinee.
This win made it a three in a row for the Titans, marking a streak that the team hasn’t experienced in several seasons. With result also doubled their total number of victories from last season.
Josh Stephenson led out the scoring in the first period before Kevin Ratcliffe and Brendan Elenko piled on in the second to give Trinity Western a 3-0 lead. UFV broke the shutout with a goal by Simon Brouwer, but the Titans answered with two more goals in the third from Matt Chaput and Trevor Edwards.
Brendan Elenko finished the game with four points and was the game's first star. This win put Trinity just two points down from UFV in the BCIHL standings.
Trinity Western’s next challenge comes against last place Selkirk College on Saturday, January 30th at the Langley Events Centre. Gametime is 1:45 PM.
