The University of Victoria have won their second BC Intercollegiate Hockey League Championship in three seasons, topping Simon Fraser by a 3-1 score on Sunday.
Dave Blake, Brent Sutherland and Kit Matkaluk scored for the Vikes, while netminder Nick Olynyk was stellar in net in the victory.
Blake opened the scoring on the power play late in the first period when he converted a feed from Matt Schultz past SFU goaltender Garrett Lee. Sutherland widened the gap in the second period on a three-on-one before Matkaluk scored UVic's second goal with the man advantage midway through the third.
SFU captain Andrew Graham brought his team within two with four minutes remaining in regulation, but ultimately Simon Fraser couldn't beat Olynyk further.
