Simon Fraser University men's ice hockey coach Mark Coletta and centre Paul Moscone each captured league awards announced Tuesday.
Coletta, who led SFU to a league-record 15-1 finish in his first season behind the bench, was named the BC Intercollegiate Hockey League's Coach of the Year.
Coletta joined Simon Fraser following a playing career that included junior hockey in B.C. and a National Championship with NCAA Division III Plattsburgh in 2001. Coletta's coaching resume includes a stint as an assistant coach with the BCHL's Surrey Eagles.
Meanwhile, Moscone earned BCIHL Most Sportsmanlike Player honours. The 22-year old recorded just 16 pentalty minutes while finishing fifth in league scoring with 14 goals and 18 assists in 15 games.
Moscone was also named a BCIHL All-Star for the second consecutive year.
