The Trinity Western University Men’s Hockey Team polished off a perfect November, winning all six of its scheduled games.
With a total of three victories over Selkirk, two exhibition wins over Western Washington, and an exhibition win over Simon Fraser, TWU ran the table.
The latest victory against Selkirk was a penalty-filled affair that saw Dan Gonzales seal the deal with solid goaltending. The game was close until the third period when Trinity Western scored three unanswered goals, after failing to score on several two man advantages in the second period. Without much flow and rhythm due to too many penalties on both sides, the game had many missed chances.
In the past month, assistant coach Mike Cameron believes penalty killing has also been instrumental in this string of victories as only two power-play goals have been scored against with multitude of opportunities.
The strong play of rookie defenseman Jonathan Woof at both ends of the rink has propelled the Titans to victories while Matt Chaput continues to contribute timely goals and Josh MacKnee lead the way offensively with 5 goals and 10 assists.
Trinity will have a challenging back-to-back set at Victoria to open the second half of the season in January.
