On its longest road trip of the season and playing an unknown opponent, it wasn't clear quite what Simon Fraser University could expect or produce heading into its two-game set against the University of Oregon in Eugene.
In the end, it took about 10 minutes to find out.
SFU burst out of the gates to take a 6-1 first period lead on Friday, and continued to score in bunches en route to an 11-3 victory. Jason Pagliaro led the way offensively for the visitors, scoring a pair of goals that included a nifty breakaway effort.
A night later, Simon Fraser made a number of roster adjustments and cruised to a 4-1 win over the Pac-8 frontrunners.
SFU will return south when they face Eastern Washington on march 6th and 7th in a tune-up for the BC Intercollegiate Hockey League Championships, which take place a week later in Abbotsford.
