Simon Fraser University continued its perfect start to the regular season this weekend, defeating the University of Victoria in back-to-back games on Vancouver Island.
On Friday, SFU entered the third period up 3-2 but scored eight goals the final 20 minutes to cap an 11-4 victory. Winger Jon Hamilton led the way for the visitors, tallying his hat trick goal with less than a minute to go in regulation. Team captain Andrew Graham added three assists for SFU, while Keith Bootle scored once and added an assist for Victoria.
A night later, Simon Fraser took a three-goal second period lead and held on for a 4-1 victory. Garrett Lee was once again solid in net while Jas Rai scored his first goal of the season in the second while Dave Wartlik tallied his first two points with SFU, including a third period goal. Brett Campbell replied for Victoria.
SFU will face Trinity Western in Langley on Saturday while Victoria breaks until November 7th when they host a pair of games against Selkirk College.
