BCIHL Tourney to be Broadcast Online

Fans of the British Columbia Intercollegiate Hockey League will be able to keep up with their favorite team’s progress at the BCIHL Championships this weekend with audio broadcasts of all seven tournament games, the league announced Wednesday.

Tournament games will be broadcast over the internet, with access to the live streaming audio provided through links on the BCIHL website.

The broadcast team, which will consist of play-by-play announcers Kelcey Brade, Alex Grebenyuk and Tyler Noble, game analyst Joel Giebelhaus rinkside reporter Dhiren Mahiban, will have end-to-end coverage of the all action from the Langley Twin Rinks, including Sunday’s Championship Game.

“This is a great opportunity for fans of the BCIHL across the province to listen live to all of the games, and for the league to tap into new markets,” Brade says. “The separate experiences of our broadcasters will prove to be valuable in helping build the brand of intercollegiate hockey in the British Columbia.”

The broadcast team’s play-by-play coverage will be complemented by in-depth pre- and post- game shows, which will commence approximately 10 minutes prior to puck drop and at the conclusion of each game. They will feature comments from the coaches, keys to each game, immediate player reaction and a full game recaps.

In addition to the weekend’s coverage, Sunday’s Championship Final will be preceded by a half-hour pre-game show beginning at 12:30pm that will set up the day’s action.
